Interview with R.G. Alexander {Tempt Me} & Giveaway!

AtM is happy to have R.G. Alexander here today to talk about her newly released (11/1), super sexy book, TEMPT ME!

oOoOo
Thank you so much R.G., for taking the time to sneak away to answer questions about your newest release, TEMPT ME, the second book from the BONE DADDY series.

Congratulations on your new release!

Blurb:

In the sultry heat of the Big Easy, desire can be a dangerous thing...

Gabriel Toussaint Giodarno has returned to New Orleans to make amends with his estranged family. The last thing he expected was to be hounded by a magical wannabe-guardian angel-or to be tempted by a beauty who's strictly off-limits.

Angelique Rousseau has always lived a safe, uneventful life. But when her friend's twin brother arrives, Angelique finds herself drawn to him. Neither Gabriel nor Angelique is prepared for the intensity of their joined passions, or what the voodoo spirits have in store for them..

Can you tell readers who are not familiar with the Bone Daddy series what the premise of the stories are about?

The first book, Possess Me, which came out last year, was a three novella anthology set in New Orleans and centered around a sexual voodoo loa (or spirit) and the men and women whose lives he touched :) Tempt Me revisits him and the Toussaints, Rousseaus and Adairs...and a few knew people that I think readers will be excited to meet.

POSSES ME {Bone Daddy, #1} consisted of three paranormal, erotic novellas. TEMPT ME {Bone Daddy, #2} is the story of one hero and heroine, however, are there any character or story arcs that readers jumping in somewhere other than the beginning need to be aware of?

Well, I think readers who haven't read Possess Me might be missing some of the family dynamics and relationships, but Gabriel and Angelique have their own story. In a perfect world, I'd say read them both in order- for pure enjoyment sake-and to understand where exactly Gabriel is coming from, and why his story is so improbably wonderful. The characters in this series are like a real family-all entangled and intertwined and in each other's business. Its one of the things I love most about it.

For Those Who May Have Missed POSSESS ME

Three exciting new paranormal erotic novellas set in New Orleans, with a voodoo twist that's "pure magic". (Eden Bradley)

In the Big Easy, there's a legend women long for: a sexual voodoo spirit who can fulfill their darkest fantasies. And in these three steaming-hot novellas, he helps three New Orleans couples achieve the ultimate satisfaction...

In Release Me, Allegra heads down to New Orleans to heal her wounds, but she never expects to lose her heart to such a quiet, troubled man as Rousseau. She's even less prepared for the scorching, sexual spirit within him-and what he can do to her...

In Reclaim Me, Ben has loved Michelle as long as he can remember. But his beautiful artist has a way of running away from life-and what the pair could be. Leave it to the infamous spirit to help Ben prove to Michelle where she belongs: in his embrace...

In Redeem Me, it's All Saints' Day, the one day the voodoo spirit can walk the world in the flesh. When he bumps into Bethany, she might just be the reincarnation of a girl he once loved. Passion ignites, but can the couple overcome past mistakes and have a real chance at love?

Can you tell readers a little bit about the world building of TEMPT ME? Were there challenges or obstacles you had to overcome?

I think Gabriel was my challenge. In Possess Me, his character seemed irredeemable. When he decided he was going to be the hero of the next book, no one doubted it more than I did. How could a man with so much baggage, so much darkness in his history possibly find somebody stubborn enough to get through to him? Luckily-Angelique is incredibly stubborn. And she knows exactly how to push his buttons. :)

As far as the world, I came back to it in the sequel like coming home. New Orleans is a magical place.

The Bone Daddy series takes place in New Orleans. What do you think makes this setting the ideal setting for the books? Was there a reason you chose this particular location?

Bone Daddy was the first character I saw in my mind. He just appeared in a doorway, smiling wickedly, and I was lost. The fact that he was a voodoo loa known for fulfilling sexual desires made the location inescapable. It had to be New Orleans. He couldn't be anywhere else.

Now it's time to talk heat for a moment. *g* Sexual tension or impulsive sex? What do you think is most sexy and/or fun to write? :)

Whats that saying? "Its all good"? I think it depends on the character. Do they restrain themselves? Are they impulsive? Are they patient or unwilling to wait. My philosophy is it is sexy if its true to them. If it works for them. Some of my characters are disturbingly easy *wink*, some like to take their time.

I loved the interview. I have a signed copy of Possess Me but have been so involved with books for review purposes I haven't had a chance to read it yet :( I will though and I am excited.

You said that the characters are all entwined and getting into each other's business...I love that in a series. It allows me to get a glimpse of past characters cause I am always sad to see them go once they get their HEA. This sounds like a great series and I will read it soon...promise!

It's been a kick to follow the posts of R.G. on other sites and it's exciting to find this site, too. I think it is so neat to hear an author speak about how a character just appeared to them, how they took over or demanded to be written about. Since reading about both of the books in the series, I can't wait to dive right into them and fall under Bone Daddy's spell! Already a fan on FB, and happy to be so!

WOOHOO!!! Another awesome series to look forward to! I happen to really enjoy the characters that seem irredeemable and I'm looking forward to that challenge with Gabriel in Possess Me. Also can't wait to find out more about those "disturbingly easy" characters mentioned. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!!

I liked how you have challenged yourself writing Gabriel's story just because he seemed so irredeemable and dark. That's just the sort of characer I like to read about. Also the series is new to me and I found the background information very helpful. Thank you for the interview.

I love it when an author can take a character that has no redeeming qualities or one you almost hate, turn it around and make you root for them. A challenge for sure, but if done well it can creat a very memorable book. Sounds like Gabriel was that for you, can't wait to read his story and see how you turn him into hero material!
