Christmas is by far my favorite time of year! It's a time I look forward to all year round, but it isn't until Thanksgiving that my hyper-awareness of the holiday kicks in.
Maybe it's from the bombardment of the excessive commercials overstimulating my senses, and using their carefully plotted out propaganda sent to drain my bank account in preparation of Black Friday, that acts as the punt to the season. I could even blame it on the over indulgence of food during the Thanksgiving feast and the laziness that follows as I prop my feet up with a beer in one hand and the remote control in another, as the family plops down in front of the T.V. for hours of football broadcasts. Yep, 'tis the season to eat lots of things I shouldn't. It could even be the annoying, elevator-like Christmas music that plays non-stop in every -- and I mean every -- public facility (which I'm convinced has some hypnotic message embedded in it causing me to spend money on ridiculous items. *g*).
Tis the season I guess.
But, no matter how much money I spend or food I eat, I absolutely love the Christmas season. Besides the most obvious religious reasons for why I love Christmas, it's also a time of gifting and receiving, and even learning to love those family members that I give thanks at the Thanksgiving table that I only have to see them once a year. :) But despite that, to me it represents a time of family, love, and romance.
With that being said, I'd like to introduce the upcoming mini-event at Among the Muses. Thanksgiving kicks off the Christmas holiday for me, so I figured why not kick it off romantically?
