Interview with Karin Tabke & Hot Excerpt from Blood Law {Blood Moon Rising Trilogy, #1}

Today I'm happy to have the author behind that hot cover here to talk about the story found within it! :) Karin Tabke captured my attention when I first picked up one of her Blood Sword Legacy books, and today she's here to talk about her latest series, the Blood Moon Trilogy, with the start of Blood Law

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Thank you so much Karin, for taking time to stop by the blog to tell us more about your writing, new release, and what's in store for readers!

Thank you for the invitation to hang out today!!

For readers not familiar with Karin Tabke, or Karin Harlow, could you give them a brief bio about yourself?

I’m married to my very own alpha. I have four great kids, a gorgeous granddaughter and I love my job!  I’m pretty much a homebody, but when I get out, I love to go to Napa, Carmel and Tahoe.

You write it all: contemporary, romantic suspense, paranormal romance, and medieval knights; from sensual romance to erotic scorch *g*. Is there one niche that you find to be your favorite to write?

I love writing passionate love stories, period.  Where and when are kind of irrelevant for me. One thing that I especially love about writing hot knights set in 1066 England is the conflict of that time. Men were men, women were woman and the power struggles that ensued between Norman and Saxon were epic. I’ve always been fascinated with that tumultuous era.  I also love the lack of technology back then, it makes things so much more intriguing.

Or maybe your most challenging? Writing the Harlow L.O.S.T. books is a challenge in that there is more action, more procedure and more technology to keep up with.  It can be challenging for sure!

I know that being a retired street cop's wife has played a lot in the backdrop of your stories; but does it also play a role in the development of characters?

Hellz, yes!  Cops are a different breed. They have their own language, they see things differently then most of us. Most are passionate about what they do.  They like to let off steam in a big way.  And the best part! Most of the cops I know are alpha to their core. My youngest son is currently in Marine boot camp down at Pendleton, I can’t wait to start picking his Marine brain!

Before I continue on with the interview, I have to give readers the back cover blurb of your new paranormal romance, BLOOD LAW, because it is just too intriguing not to!

Love this story!

~ Book Blurb ~

For all eternity, only one thing shall separate them--until the Blood Law is avenged...

The coming of the Blood Moon will lead two Lycan packs into war, spur two rival brothers into conflict, and spark an act of vengeance so evil that its effects will be felt for generations.

One woman stands at the center of it all...

As undisputed Alpha, Rafael must choose a life mate to preserve the dominance of his Lycan pack. He never suspected, his mate would be a human, the same wounded, girl-woman he seduces from the brink of death. Falon is a dangerous combination of Lycan and Slayer--beings bred to destroy his kind. Even more, she's a mesmerizing beauty whose sensuality tempts the seasoned warrior to take unnecessary risks. The primal heat between them is irresistible, yet surrendering to it could destroy them both...for a vengeful foe stands ready in the shadows to fulfill what is rightfully his by Blood Law.

The release of  Blood Law, is the beginning of the new Blood Moon trilogy you have in store for readers -- which sounds absolutely amazing!! And just look at that tattooed arm candy cover! Very hot! Blood Law was pitched as Sons of Anarchy meets Rise of the Lycans. Please do tell!

Readers out there who watch SOA, all know that Jax, the brooding, golden son and heir apparent, is one of those bad guys who you can’t help but drool over.  He is loyal, troubled, torn, passionate and intelligent. What I love most about Jax is how deeply he feels. He will do anything for his mama, his son, the woman he loves and his fellow bikers.  Anything.  Then there is the mystique that goes along with outlaw bikers.  Tangle that up with primal lycan, and boom!

Could you tell us what the title of the new release means and what is the coming of the Blood Moon?

The Blood Law is the very specific law that lycan live and die by. It was written in lycan blood during the previous blood moon rising, when there was an epic battle between slayer and wolves. For the wolves to survive into the next millennia and the coming of the next blood moon rising, they were transformed into lycan. The Blood Law keeps the packs pure, strong and focused. To defy it, is death. Period. Or am I asking for spoilers?  No spoilers.  ;)

You have the next two installments of the Blood Moon trilogy set for February 2012 (Blood Right, #2) and June 2012 (Blood Moon Rising, #3). Will we see character overlaps, story arcs, etc.?

Absolutely!

Could you leave us with a little excerpt from Blood Law? *crosses fingers*

Falon moaned. Pain mixed with an inexplicable pleasure slid sensuously across her skin, sinking into her muscles and bones, then deeper, to her womb. Moist heat trailed across her nipples, then painstakingly slowly, down her belly. Anticipation flared with a want so deep, so profound, she sobbed. Hot breath hovered just above her mons. The need for more took over. Grabbing the sheets she lay upon, Falon twisted them tightly around her hands, afraid if she reached out, the sensations would evaporate. She craved this touch with every cell in her body. She had lived her entire life without it.

She wanted all of it.

Her thighs parted, her hips rose. Hot breath fanned the tender flesh there.

“God,” she moaned. “Make it stop.”

Possessive hands cupped her breasts.

“Ah,” she gasped, melting into the erotic pressure. “More,” she begged. The urgency in her blood demanded more. More pressure, more intensity. Penetration.

It was the most erotic dream she had ever had.

No longer did she feel the pain from that terrible attack. She shut out the horrible memories of Mr. D and the debacle that followed. It was a nightmare. But this . . . this was pure bliss . . .

Firm lips pressed between her thighs. Falon shuddered, the intense pleasure of the contact too much for her to bear. Releasing the sheets, she dug her fingers into the thick silken hair on the head between her thighs. An erotic rush coursed through her. She could feel the muscled jaw, open and moving as he . . .

“Oh, God,” she moaned as a thick wet tongue swirled across her hardened clitoris. “Oh, God,” she moaned again, her breath hard and forced. “Oh, God.” She couldn’t help herself. She dug her nails further into the thick hair, raking his scalp. A low masculine growl vibrated against her.

Lips gently suckled her labia as big hands fondled her breasts, and fingertips plucked her nipples. Sensation shot through her nervous system, lighting her up. She arched her back, spreading herself wider, wanting all of the man who tortured her so.

She’d been alone so long. So cold. So hungry. This extraordinary feeling of being wanted felt too good to stop.

Magic hands and supple fingertips branded every inch of her. Falon writhed, barely able to control her body’s voracious response to the master’s touch. She held nothing back, every inhibition had fled at his first touch. It was a dream or she had been drugged.  She didn’t care which, she only cared that it never stopped.

Strong hands grasped the cradle of her hips, lifting her drenched pussy more firmly to molten lips. “Please,” she begged.  “Please.”

He growled, attacking her with the ferocity of a starved man.  Fear shimmered through her at his rough handling. But her body wept for more.  He caught her clit in his teeth and tugged, laving her to soften the intensity.  The air around her simmered, she gasped unable to breathe.  He sunk a long, thick finger into her virgin body.  Her liquid muscles hugged him in welcome.  Falon’s eyes rolled back into her head as her body wracked with exquisite pleasure. Her lungs hurt in their desperation for air. Perspiration erupted along her flesh, slickening her eager hot body.  Her hips bucked wildly, demanding more. He gave her more.

He slid another finger into her wanton pussy, then in a slow deliberate cadence, he fucked her as his lips clung possessively to her clit.

It was too much.  Falon cried out in sensation overload, yet her fingers clutched and clawed at him, wanting him to go deeper.

He snarled. The tension in her body rose. Fingers dug into her ass. Her body thrashed. The fingers inside of her curled and tapped a sweet spot.  Falon screamed. The tension snapped.  Her body shattered.  She didn’t know if she would live or die.  She didn’t care.

“You are mine,” a rough voice growled against her trembling thighs. “Mine.”

“Yes,” Falon gasped.

Cold air spiraled across her body.

“No,” she gasped when she wanted to scream. Weep.
Her dream, her lovely, lovely dream, was ending.

The bed dipped on either side of her head as her dream lover planted his hands there. She was afraid to open her eyes, afraid if she did, her dream would be gone from her forever. Warm breath caressed her cheek. Warmer lips pressed to her neck.  Her body liquefied as the tension eased.  He wasn’t leaving her.

A long, lean, blistering body pressed against hers. Power washed off him in waves. Even if she wanted to run, he would never allow it. His possession was final. Intuitively she knew it.

Falon held her breath for one long moment as she steeled herself. Anticipating . . . His cock pressed against her belly. She moaned as he dragged its heavy thickness downward, stopping between her thighs. He grabbed it with his hand and rubbed the wide head up and down along her drenched lips. She moaned, wanting all of him but suddenly afraid. She stiffened.

He growled and nudged against her slick opening. Unbelievably, despite how much she knew her body wanted it, she felt its instinctive resistance.

“Accept me,” his harsh, husky voice demanded above her.

“Please,” she begged.  “Don’t hurt me.”

He growled, the sound not threatening, but indignant.

His long fingers dug into her hair.  His warm breath caressed her cheek.  She dared to open her eyes.  Her heart stopped.  Deep ocean blue eyes glittered like molten jewels above her. Wide-eyed she could not look away.

“Accept me,” he roughly said again, nudging her.

Like quicksilver, excitement thrummed through her veins. Her breath rushed from her lungs as her heart restarted. She would not deny him.  In doing so, she would deny herself. She closed her eyes as every part of her loosened. Finally, she would know how a man would feel inside her.

In answer, she undulated beneath his hardness pressing for entry.

He pressed his lips to her ear. “Say the words: I accept you.”

She gasped at the raw passion of his words, the tone possessive and commanding.

“Say it!” he hissed. His body coiled above hers, like a serpent ready to strike.

“I-I accept you,” she breathed.

*fans self* WoW! What a place to stop!!

Now for some quickie responses…

What I love to do outside of writing... I show my dog Bella.

A few favorite romance authors of mine... Linda Howard, Sylvia Day, and Kathleen Woodiwiss.

A favorite book I’ve read within the past year…I reread Mr. Perfect and The Wolf and the Dove.

My favorite type of hero…Alpha!

My favorite type of heroine...The kind that will kick anyone’s ass if they come between her and the people she loves.

If I could be a paranormal creature, it would be ...hmm, that’s a tough one. I’d want a vampire or lycan lover but what would I be? Something mystical, maybe fey?

A supernatural power I wish I had ...I’d love to be able to cast magical spells.

My writing routine includes… I’m a night writer.  I can usually be found between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. at the keyboard.

Something I always have to have near when writing... coffee!

Pantser or plotster? Panster. Plotting gives me hives.

If I wasn't a writer I'd be… a Fairy Godmother.

A place I’d love to visit… England and Italy.

One thing I would love to try...to fly a plane.

Is there anything outside of the Blood Moon trilogy you're working on?

I have a few new series ideas percolating, but I want to get back to my Blood Sword Legacy stories.  I plan to write and self-pub the remaining 5.  I miss those guys!

Is there anything else you would like to tell fans of your books?

If you haven’t given me a read, try one of my books, you might like it!  Also, and this is important, although I’m slower on the turnaround these days, I am always open to answering writing and industry related questions. My email is kltabke@aol.com.  Also cop related questions I can’t answer, my hubby can!

Thank you again, Karin, for taking the time to stop by and give us the scoop on your writing and new release. Blood Law sounds absolutely amazing, which is why I've already pre-ordered my own copy and am looking forward to following this trilogy! :)

Thank you, again for having me! I hope you enjoy Falon and Rafe’s story!!
