Eternal Kiss: Mark of the Vampire, is set for release on April 5th, from Signet. YAY!
With the ability of technology to deliver practically anything over the internet, the way we learn about, view, and read books is no exception.
How many times do we look at book trailers and base our decisions of purchasing a book, putting it on our exponentially growing TBR list, or add it to our blogs/websites to help spread the word? I, for one, love trailers, but I think it also depends on quality and the ability to send the message of the book.
Eternal Kiss's trailer was one of those 1minute, 33second videos that immediately caught my eye. It definitely added to my want of this book!
To celebrate the upcoming release of this highly anticipated book two of the Mark of the Vampire series, Ms. Laura Wright is offering one lucky commenter a special gift for answering a very important question.

Fun eye candy usually when i watch the book trailors i have already made my mind up about the book.
elizabeth_14@hotmail.co.uk
I watch trailers to get a better idea of what a book I might be interested in is about. Trailers help to identify the tone of a book for me and hint at what I will find between the pages. If it's not a very good trailer or the content doesn't interest me, then it becomes just eye candy.

Trailers are fun eye candy. Sometimes they help me make up my mind about a book. Please enter me in contest. Tore923@aol.com
To me they are fun eye candy. I have seen a few that are so well made that it did make me look up the author or the book. Mostly they are entertaining.

There just fun to each for me. By the time a book trailer has come out I've usually de died if I want to read the book or not. But they arebreally interesting to wach.

Trailers are a great tool for authors to use... But I didn't need any help when it comes to Nicky... Nicky is my favorite in this series.. I just love the boy to pieces...

the trailers don't make me by a book, but they do intrigue me about the story and after reading the blurb the book often goes to my wishlist :)
congrats on your newest release!
wish you all the best, Ina

I've never bought a book because of the trailer but some of them are pretty interesting to watch.

I've never based my decision to read a book on the trailer, I prefer to go my the book summary and reader reviews.

Do trailers sway you to buy a book, intrigue you about the book, or are they just fun eye candy?? How about all of the above? I love watching them for the eye candy, and they usually get me interested enough to find out more, and then i'll run out and buy the book.
Barbed1951 at aol dot com
Trailers don't sway me to buy a book. I do like to watch for fun and see how creative they can be.
elaing8(at)netscape(dot)net
Congrats Laura on your upcoming release! Looks fantastic!!!
Trailers do sway me to buy a book (especially if I'm on the fence about it), they can be intriguing, and they can have some really fun eye candy, so for me it's all of the aboveL:)
yadkny@hotmail.com
The are intriguing and eye candy for me. Usually I only watch trailers for books of which I am already interested in reading.
robin [at] intensewhisper [dot] com
They haven't swayed me yet, but I do enjoy them. So, I guess for me it's all eye candy. :)

To me, they're a mixture of eye candy and intrigue, because it's fun to watch them and the choice of words and images makes me intrigued about the book, even if I read some spoilers or reviews :)
sweet.sayumi@yahoo.com.br
Honestly, I never watch them unless I've heard that one is out of the ordinary, like Tessa Dare's video last year. Up until recently, I had a very slow computer that couldn't play videos.
jen at delux dot com
they are just eye candy to me., the only thing that sways me is the cover and blurb of a book.
great giveawy
thanks for international
danielsangel101@yahoo.co.uk
Intrigue, eye candy, and then sway. :-D
everitnm at hotmail dot com
For me, it's mostly eye candy. Occasionally the trailer will persuade me to buy the book.
Nice giveaway!
^_^
Trailers are eye candy. I don't read reviews. I go by past experience with reading an author AND the story synopsis.
For me they are mostly eye candy, though if I'm interested in the book but unsure of buying it, if the trailer is good, it helps me make my decision.
jas1195@hotmail.com
Just eye candy. But a book cover and summary can sway me. :)

I do not watch trailers... They are not my cup of tea :) I go from reviews, experience with author's work, and recommendations. Also, the synopsis is essential to gain my interest. If the story description does not spark enough interest, I am hesitant to purchase.
no. but i just recently got internet that isnt diapup and slowww , so im just now getting able to watch, but well i kinda draw the pictures of the ppl in my head so wheni see a trailer and its not the same, well lol its weird
but im starting to like them
Normally they are just Eye Candy. I pick what I am going to read next from reviews on website's, back covers or by having friends or authors I have on FB recommending them.
honestly the book trailers are usually eyecandy for me because I've already decided to get the book, the trailer is just an extra added treat for me
Great topic! And congrats on the upcoming release! I loved the first one! For me, trailers are mostly eye candy, though I have books through trailers before. This didn't stop me from making trailers for both of my books, but I too question if there's really any relation between your book trailer and actual purchases. Honestly, I think the greater potential may be on the other side: a bad book trailer (and there are, unfortunately, a lot of them out there) has the potential to turn an already-interested reader off. :) Laura (laurakayeauthor[at]gmail[dot]com)
They are good eye candy no doubt, however I have bought numerous books based on the trailer. I am a cover and trailer junky!! The eye candy is what catches my attention enough to read the sample excerpts or back blurbs. From there, it's all about the characters!
BTW, I am already looking up Eternal Kiss! Loved the trailer. What sane woman can resist all that male-ness mixed with the sweet enticement of a vampire story! ;-)
I now and then watch a trailor. It never has influence on if I buy a book or not. Usually I just watch them for the eye candy..
Raonaid (at) gmail (dot) com
I have to say that I consider trailers mostly eye candy. I don't watch them much.
rootml1@hotmail.com
When I click to download a book trailer, I do so because my attention was captured by either the blurb about it, the author its coming from or the look of the image for the trailer. And that means I’m attracted to two prospects ..the intrigue of the book/blurb, the image/eye candy I saw that originally captured my attention which will then usually sway me to seek out a copy of that book. So yes, all three of those apply and work at calling my attention to a book and author.
LadyVampire2u AT gmail DOT com
They are fun to watch but they don't really sway me one way or another. I make my decisions based on what the book is about.
I forgot to leave my email.
birdygirl47@gmail.com
I love book trailers! Not only are they eye candy, but you get a sense of what the book is going to be about. Also, it gives you more for the imagination *wink wink*
toniannd86@yahoo.com
It does not make a decision for me, although I do like the ones that aren't cheesy. If it is cheesy I will sometimes reconsider. Thanks for the giveaway. I have one going on to. Stop by. http://bit.ly/hotbooks
jokestner[at]yahoo[dot]com
it's intrigue me about the book. But not directly buying the book :) i need more than a trailer to buy a book.
uniquas at ymail dot com
To me the trailers are just the icing on the cake.I love the eye candy appeal though.I would really love to have these guys around granting my every desire while I read the awesome books. The book trailers give the book more depth.
koonie2888@yahoo.com
Book's trailer always intrigued me, what with the story of the book, how the appearance of the character, and sometimes answer my question, but of course not all. It can be after watch the trailer I'll buy the books, but many trailers was considered as eye candy for me :)
Thanks for the giveaway ^_^
sawamura_foxman@yahoo.com
Usually just fun eye cnady but it also helps build the excitement but the author usually sales it for me.
brandywarrix@yahoo.com
For me they are just really great eye candy lol The author, book cover and blurb and/or excerpt is what sells me. Sometimes just one of those things sometimes all of them.

For me trailers either intrigue me about the book or sway me to buy it.
princessbryn(at)gmail(dot)com
I think that they are fun and interesting but I dont know if they sway me to buy a book, dont get me wrong I like them.
lisasworldofbooks@charter.net
I have never bought a book because of a trailer. Too be perfectly honest most trailers seem really cheesy to me and I tend to not watch them. I do come across the occasional few that are done really well and have great man candy in them.
iqb99@yahoo.com
I think it depends.. But it can be eye candy and something to grab you to buy the book:)
elliott2668@yahoo.com
Nice trailer. Your book sounds great. Can't wait to read it. I think that trailers are great eye candy and can intrigue me to buy a book. :)
Crystal816[at]hotmail[dot}com
eye candy!! but, sometimes they will get me to give a book a closer look if I haven't heard of it before.
Grats on the release! Trailers have influenced me in the past but only if it is my 'genre' and it is sufficiently intriguing. Trailer looks great and so does the book!!
shiderly77@yahoo.com
They intrigue me about a book and I love all the eye candy :)
I love the Roman Brothers!!
misz_turkish_sweety@hotmail.com
I love book trailors because it gives a visual representation of what the author want to come across in their books. They make me want to read a book more when I have a glimpse of the world and characters.
smccar1 at hotmail dot com
A little bit of all three? lol Usually they're just eye-candy, but several have intrigued me enough to at least look into a book, and there have been one or two that have snagged my attention enough that I bought the book in question.
romanceaholic at gmail dot com ;)
I have to admit they are pretty nice eye candy (most of the anyway. But it is a nice way to see what the book is about. It kinda makes it come to life a little. It defiantly gets me interested and If it looks really good then yea it would make me buy the book. But its also nice when you really like the book to see it come to life and what the characters may look like.
Thanks for the giveaway!
m.ramey@ymail.com
For me they do all three. Eye candy is always good, but really if the video is good it gets me excited about the book even more. I am a visual person so seeing makes me buy!

More curiosity and eye candy. I've never bought a book based on the trailer. But I do enjoy watching them. No, my choices are based on Authors, blurbs and excerpts.Bright and great covers cause to pick up a book and based on the blurb ,if I like it I'll buy it.
Carol L
Lucky4750@aol.com
I was going to say no that they do not sway me to buy the book but that trailer was very eye catching. Usually I don't like to watch the trailers because it never matches what I want to visualize for the book. If the characters are not hot to me it kind of plays down the book. So I usually don't watch them. This trailer however was definitely hot. I might have to try watching more trailers...lol
Tanyaw1224(at)yahoo(dot)com
I like the eye candy Always but If the trailer intrigues me I will buy the book
I have never bought a book because of a book trailer. I usually tend to buy books based on authors that I know I love, word of mouth, and book reviews. I do enjoy watching the trailers on occasion though.
adsanders77 at gmail dot com
To be honest, trailers are mostly just fun eye candy for me. Sometimes, they do intrigue me and get me interested to learn more about it book, but it is not a deciding factor to buy the book. Usually the deciding factor would be what I take away from reviews and such to see whether it would be something I'd enjoy reading.
Thanks for the giveaway! :)
chibipooh(at)gmail(dot)com
Thanks for the giveaway!
For me, trailers are just fun eye candy. I usually decide to buy a book after reading the synopsis.
angeldream3[at]gmail[dot]com
Congrats on the book Laura it sounds great. Have had it on my wishlist since I spotted it around the web a couple of months now :).
While booktrailers are fun eyecandy, some have intrigued me enough to go find out about the book when I hadn't heard of it before.
pams00 @ aol.com
They don't sway me to buy or not to buy a book but they're fun and I enjoy watching them, especially if they have yummy man candy in them!
folksohana at gmail dot com
Trailers usually never sway me (book reviews do that), but they certainly intrigue me. Usually I see a trailer of a book I've never heard of, I'm intrigued, check out book reviews on blogs and then if those convinced me, I hop over to Amazon or Book Depository and click on order :-D lol
Thank you for the great giveaway!
stella.exlibris (at) gmail (dot) com
Usually , trailers intrigue me , if i never heard about that book , but if i knew about the book before , then it's just eye candy :D
