BlogFest 2010!!

Welcome to BlogFest 2010!!

Hosted by A Journey of Books

What's BlogFest??
BlogFest is much like tag through the blogs. Each blog will host a link that will guide you on through to the next blog, and so on.
But.... The best part is....

Each blog will be hosting a giveaway contest for readers to enter!  Can you imagine the different prizes you have a chance at winning? Or all the new people you'll meet? This is sure to be a win/win weekend!

And Don't forget about the massive BlogFest 2010 grand giveaway!  Head on over to http://ajourneyofbooks.halfzero.net and click on the Tracking Site link to head to our own exclusive tracking site.  Once there you can register with a valid email address (to be used solely for the purpose of contacting the winner).  This site will allow you to track your progress through BlogFest 2010!  You can log on from anywhere at any time and continue where you left off.  The best part is that every blog that you visit and mark off through this tracking site will give you one entry into the massive giveaway!  We have a great collection of books, goodies and other swag that is looking for a new home!

So what do I have a chance to win here
at Among The Muses?

There are five books with five chances to win!
The first person drawn will have first pick from the list, the second person drawn will have second pick, and so on.

Because this is an adult book blog, so are the books, therefore you need to be 18+ to enter.

Giveaway Rules:
  • This contest is open Internationally as long as The Book Depository ships to your country.
  • You need to be a follower of this blog and over 18 to enter.
    • A winner will be drawn via random.org. The first winner will have first choice of book from the list above, second person gets to pick secondly, and so on.
    • Comment on the question: Do reviews influence your decision to purchase a book? This doesn't have to be elaborate. Yes or No works, but feel free to tell me why.
    • Leave your email addy with your comment so I can contact the winners. If you don't feel comfortable leaving it here, you can email me at amongthemuses@gmail.com.
    • All winners will be announced and contacted by Tuesday, Sept.14, and will have 48 hours to respond before a new winner is selected.
Oh, and before you venture off, don't forget to check out my other contests going on right now. You can find them at the top of the right sidebar.

So where do you go next in this tag-along?

Sometimes reviews influence my purchases. If I read a bunch of 5-star reviews, I'm really curious about a book, so I usually end up buying it. If a book gets a lot of bad reviews ... I may still read it, but it'll probably move down in priority.

    Love your giveaway selection!

A review might only sway me if I am on the fence in the first place about a book. Usually if it is a blogger that I have agreed with their assessment of other books. If I want to read it, I still will, even if I read a negative or critical review. And, no matter how positive a review might be, if a book isn't to my taste, I won't pick it up.

Do reviews influence your decision to purchase a book?
What a funny question, as I was just reading a few online reviews of books I was looking into purchasing. So, for me, Yes. Yes it does. Why? Because I usually look at the cover and read the back of the book to see if i'll like it. But reading someone elses review of it helps me make my overall decision.

Yes, but usually only positive reviews influence my decision to buy or read. Reading preferences are so subjective. If there is a book I really want to read and everyone has been saying how awful it is I'll wait until I find a good review and say Thank God somebody likes it. most people don't like it for the story line, not because it's bad writing or the characters are weak. I won't read it if the negative reviews say there are lots of spelling mistakes and grammar problems. Drives me up a wall!
