I knew right from the beginning that I was being drawn into an unique world filled with unique characters. A world where a species with advanced mental powers rule over the changelings and humans. A world where emotional detachment and compassion wars with one another. And we all know what happens when two beings, one warm and one cold, come in contact, don't we? Yep! A raging inferno fueled by affection and yumminess!

For the most part, the changelings, humans, and Psy's have all learned to coexist, primarily due to the fact that the Psy are extremely mentally powerful, capable of killing almost effortlessly. But a dangerous killer is on the loose, targeting changeling woman, and disrupting the civil undertones of the races. The killer is even more threatening because of their ability to elude detection through deceit and corruptness. 

In the midst of tragedy and suspicion, the Psy have a special project that needs to be completed, and can only be done through the aid of the enemy. Wanting to be able to infiltrate the Psy stronghold to gain needed information on the killer, Lucas Hunter, the Alpha of DarkRiver, has volunteered himself to be the one to help on the project. As soon as he meets his 'partner', Sascha Duncan, he knows there is something different about her, even beyond her cold, emotionless demeanor.

As the two progress through their assignment, an undeniable attraction develops that rocks them both and throws all prejudice notions out the window! When they finally act upon those feelings, a bond and deep affection takes hold that neither were prepared for.

This book was nothing like I expected (just look at the synopsis), yet exceeded my expectations! The creative characters, unique world, and hot, hot, hotness that make up this story, had me flipping the pages as fast as I could!  I was kept on my toes, not quite sure who the true antagonist was, as well as what was going to happen next.

It is very apparent that time was put into the plot and character development. Nalini's writing style allowed for me to experience a world that almost seemed to jump off the pages, and characters that I could reach out and touch! I experienced a wide range of emotions throughout this book, laughing, solemness, and even a little misty-eyed. Not only did I like the hero and heroine as individuals, but the relationship that developed between the two was intense and palpable! And, the smexyness was yummy! Just imagine a woman who experiences touch and feelings for the first time and you can gain an appreciation for what she'll experience under the hands of a very dominate and experienced alpha!! *sighs*

What an amazing beginning to what I can only suspect will be an amazing series, Ms. Singh has created! The dynamic characters and uniquely complex world will captivate anyone who loves paranormal romance and fantasy. The reader must also love a healthy dose of dominant alpha who knows what he wants, when he wants, and won't settle for anything less! This series has found a special little place in my PNR heart and will, without question, be placed in my auto-reads! Slave to Sensation made me a slave to Psy-Changeling!
